En-suite bedroom in vegan home
Hi, I'm Sue. I have a spare bedroom in my home that has an en-suite bathroom with a bath, toilet, and basin. The room has spacious built-in cupboards and a queen bed. If you prefer to shower, you just need to go a few steps down the main passage in the house and you'll find another bathroom which is not used by anyone else. In summer, you can enjoy the swimming pool if you want. There's a nice garden here, and it's a peaceful and safe suburb in the north-west area of Johannesburg. It's quite close to Walter Sisulu Botanical Gardens, the Cradle of Humankind (Muldersdrift), and Hartbeespoort Dam.
I'm vegan, but I have cats and dogs that eat animal products. I'm happy to host either vegans or vegetarians. It's fine if a guest wants to cook eggs here, for example. You'll have your own fridge in the kitchen, and the use of the stove and microwave, coffee machine etc.
I also have a second smaller bedroom, which has a single bed and is not en-suite. The main bathroom of the house is directly across the passage from this room and nobody else uses that bathroom (unless other guests take a shower there). This smaller room would be suited if you're travelling in a group of three.

Food
I am vegan, and my pots have not been used to cook meat in. They have been used to cook eggs in, and probably also milk (by other guests).
My pets eat animal products and I do occasionally cook meat for them. I use a separate microwave and bowl for this purpose.
I don't like guests to use the kitchen heavily but have no problem with them cooking a light meal now and then and using the toaster or the tea and coffee facilities. It's always nice if you would ask me when I won't be using the kitchen myself, so that we don't get in each other's way. I am pretty accommodating if I know what you need.
You will need to clean up completely after yourself please. I don't have a housekeeper to help me.

Activities
I don't offer any activities at home.
I work as a healer and trauma release exercise (TRE) provider, but I practice at a wellness center in a nearby suburb. Please don't expect me to provide free services at home. You can make a paid appointment with me if you want, depending on my availability.

Rules
I follow a moderate cancellation policy. If you cancel a booking at least 2 weeks before you were due to arrive, you can get a full refund (if you had paid already).
If you cancel less than 2 weeks before you were due to arrive, I'll keep your deposit and refund the remaining amount.
If you cancel 48 hours or less before you were due to arrive, there is no refund, because I may have lost out on other potential bookings.
Once you have stayed here briefly and I know who you are and how you live, I would certainly consider letting you stay longer if we have compatible lifestyles.
Quiet hours are between 9 pm and 7 am. In general, guests need to maintain the quiet and peaceful atmosphere in my home and suburb.
The main gate onto the property is locked overnight. Please ensure you are in by about 8 pm every night, or let me know if you need to arrive later. Also let me know if you will need to leave before 7 am.
