Finca Victoria, Casa Botanica, is a farmhouse style Bed & Breakfast in the heart of the small island of Vieques, Puerto Rico. Vieques is known for its outstanding white sand beaches, incredible bioluminescent bay, and its majestic wild horses that roam throughout the island.
The hotel is located on a hill with wonderful cross ventilation, surrounded by luscious vegetation and the soothing symphony of native Coqui frogs. Being on one of the highest points of the island provides us with an amazing view of sunrises and sunsets. The island has hardly any light pollution, which creates the perfect atmosphere to see the stars at night. Under the right clear-sky conditions, the Milky Way even becomes visible for stargazers to admire.
Life at the Finca
Our days start with 7am yoga classes on our sun-deck, followed by an amazing complementary vegetarian breakfast with vegan options also always available. This all happens at the hotel’s central structure, a hybrid of loft and wood cabin with metal framing. Here you’ll find a beautiful open living room overlooking the natural water pool. There is also an oil making station where we prepare and mix essential oils, healing balms, teas, natural cigarette blends based on flowers and other natural products. In the middle of the communal house sits a well curated store with kaftans, natural products all made in house or by other makers from Puerto Rico, jewelry from local designers, as well as a vintage clothing and jewelry store area.
No room is similar to another. Each one has been decorated individually with attention to detail, vintage furniture and beautiful lighting. Both the sheets and the mattresses are made of organic cotton, and every room has its own balcony and outdoor shower. The rooms also come with homemade teas, homemade oils for the diffusers, and infused water.
Times for detox
A few times a year, the hotel is blocked for more focused detox services, similar to Panchankarma, but modified to fit our Caribbean resources. Our detoxes are overseen by a naturopathic doctor, and the services we offer include: acupuncture, massages, lymphatic drainage, herb baths, body clay masks, cooking classes and educational talks. The detox process is supported by a special diet designed for each person individually, and tinctures and tonics are given to each client throughout the day.
About the property
Each room is truly unique in it’s own way. The Victoria Suite, Nuria’s Suite, Sahar’s Treehouse & The Baez-Haus – each carries its own distinct feel based on its location on the property and the design of the space. All have private facilities, beach & bath towels, small cooler, basic kitchen utensils, mosquito net, etc. Every room has a ceiling fan, and because of our breezy location A/C’s are not needed.
