I Should Cocoa – Seebohm

We would love to welcome you to this spacious studio apartment, located within Rowntree’s former cocoa bean warehouse. Situated within York’s historic city walls, this apartment is ideal for those wishing to enjoy a relaxing getaway in one of the United Kingdom’s most iconic cities.

As vegans ourselves we wanted to provide accommodation where vegans and vegetarians would feel welcomed and at home. We chose York as the place to live, and to open our holiday apartments, not only because the city is so beautiful but because it is also amazing for vegans with more and more vegan cafes and restaurants opening all the time.

The space

This is a newly developed studio apartment within a grade II* listed Victorian mill building.

The building, Rowntree Wharf, is a significant landmark within the centre of York providing easy access to the cities many tourist attractions, bars, and restaurants.
The apartment benefits from a pull down double bed, comfortable seating area, well equipped kitchen, and stylish shower room.
In addition, guests can take advantage of free wifi, Netflix, and online music. Ideal for those wanting to indulge in a cosy night in after a day exploring the city.

We care about the environment and this has been an important part of creating this home from home. From bamboo toilet paper to Fairtrade sugar, we aim to provide our guests with ethically sourced, environmentally friendly products wherever possible. All of the products provided are free from animal products and have not been tested on animals. We have worked closely with our suppliers to ensure that they understand, and respect, our values.

We hope that this extra attention to those little details makes your stay a happy one, we even have our own custom tea blend for you to enjoy!

Interaction with guests

The apartment operates on a self check-in/check-out basis via a key safe.

However, we are aware that some guests may prefer to be met for check-in and we are happy to provide this service where possible. Please let us know your preference when you book.

We live at Rowntree Wharf ourselves and will be available to provide assistance where needed. We are also happy to answer any questions that may arise during your stay.

Food

On arrival you will be greeted with some homemade vegan brownies and custom made loose leaf tea. For those of you with a sweet tooth we also provide two types of fairtrade vegan sugar.

About the kitchen
There is a full kitchen in the apartment that is fully equipped. We provide vegan washing up liquid and vegan detergent for the washing machine. We do not restrict the food that can be bought and consumed in the apartment.
